Extract Holding Tote Designed for Flexible Bulk Liquid Handling

When a process uses multiple liquid extraction vessels, having a dedicated holding tank gives operators more flexibility in how extracted product is collected, mixed, cleaned, and transferred.

MIXSYS designed this extract holding tote to receive product from multiple extraction vessels within the system. The tank provides a central point for holding product before it moves to the next stage of processing.

The tote includes an agitator to keep product mixed while it is being held. This can be useful when the material needs to remain uniform before being transferred or recirculated through the system.

Cleaning was also a key part of the design. CIP connections and a spray ball allow the tank and pump to be cleaned as part of the process. The existing piping arrangement allows CIP liquid to be removed through an automated valve and sent back into the CIP return line. If needed, the flow can also be redirected to a drain.

The piping was designed to give the system additional flexibility beyond simply holding product. Product can be recirculated from the holding tote to multiple other tanks connected within the process. This modular setup allows the equipment to work with different parts of the extraction system instead of limiting the tank to one fixed transfer path.

For bulk liquid processing, equipment like a holding tote can become an important connection point between different stages of production. The tank itself is only part of the solution. Piping, valves, cleaning connections, agitation, and controls all need to work together based on how the product moves through the facility.
