Wrapping Up the Plastics Recycling Conference 2026

Wrapping Up the Plastics Recycling Conference

The 2026 Plastics Recycling Conference in San Diego has officially wrapped up, and it was a productive few days for the MIXSYS team.

From the first morning to the final conversations on the show floor, the focus was clear: the industry is in a transition phase. Companies are actively working through PCR compliance requirements, expanding EPR programs, supply chain pressure, and the operational realities of processing recycled materials at scale.

The tone this year wasn’t speculative. It was practical.

What We Heard

Across conversations with processors, manufacturers, and project engineers, a few consistent themes stood out:

Recycled content targets are increasing, and material variability is a daily challenge.

Dust control and containment remain critical in plastics handling environments.

Storage flexibility is becoming more important as feedstock supply shifts.

Equipment reliability directly impacts compliance and profitability.

There’s growing demand for systems that don’t just meet regulatory requirements on paper but actually perform on the plant floor.

Booth #830 — Thank You

We appreciated everyone who stopped by our booth to talk through their projects and challenges. The discussions around Fabric Silos, mixing systems, and bulk material handling were strong throughout the week.

Many attendees came prepared with specific questions about integration timelines, retrofit possibilities, and capacity planning. Those are the conversations we value most — focused, detailed, and grounded in real operations.

What Happens Next

Trade shows are important, but the real work starts afterward.

Over the next few weeks, our team will be following up with the contacts we made in San Diego to continue discussions around equipment solutions, plant upgrades, and long-term process improvements.

If we didn’t connect during the show and you’re evaluating improvements to your recycling or material handling operation, we’re ready to have that conversation.

The industry is moving quickly. The companies that adapt operationally — not just strategically — will stay ahead

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Plastics Recycling Conference a strong event. We’ll see you next year!
