How the Lump Breaker Works

The unit uses crushing shafts with lumping blades to break apart compacted material as it passes through the machine. Depending on the configuration, it can use one or two crushing shafts. The two-shaft configuration uses counter-rotating shafts to help break up tough, sticky or cohesive products.

The lump breaker can handle product flows of up to 40 m³ per hour and is available in sizes ranging from 300 mm to 1000 mm in diameter.

A passageway grid can also be used to regulate product flow through the equipment.

Built for Different Applications

The Quick Clean Lump Breaker can be used across a range of processing applications. Materials listed for the equipment include bulk chemicals, fertilizers, sugar, dairy powders and food ingredients.

Construction is available in steel or stainless steel, with 304 stainless steel available for applications that require it.

Quick Access for Cleaning and Maintenance

One of the key features of this lump breaker is its quick-disassembly design.

The equipment can be pulled out on a slide rail, giving operators easier access for cleaning and maintenance without requiring a lengthy disassembly process. This can be especially useful in facilities that handle multiple products or run frequent batch changes.

The unit can also be configured with additional options such as perforated sheeting and quick-disassembly mechanisms.

Safety and Drive Options

The Quick Clean Lump Breaker includes several features designed to support reliable operation. Shaft sealing bearings help protect the shaft and support operation, while durable gears are designed for long service life.

Safety features include a torque limiter and a blow-on cable gland with a pressure setting of 0.3 bar.

The equipment is available with different drive configurations. A direct-drive setup connects the gear motor directly to the driveshaft, while a chain-drive configuration uses chain and gear transmission between the shafts.
